Patricia Guthrie, age 81, of Coats, NC passed away, Thursday, January 31, 2019 at home surrounded by a loving family. A memorial service will be held Saturday,February 16, 2019 6:00 P.M. at Coats Baptist Church. Mrs. Guthrie or Nanny, as most people affectionately referred to her, was born
September 25, 1937 in Oklahoma to Haskell and Fleeta Scroggins. Nanny was a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Guthrie and her grandchild, Alisha R. Guthrie and her daughter-in-law, Janda Guthrie. Survivors include her children by God, Cheryl Staritz, Haskell Guthrie, Elizabeth Taylor, and Allen Guthrie. Also included are her children in heart, Kim Staritz, Barry Taylor, Julie Guthrie, and Cathy Shull. She has 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Truly, she was blessed.
