Gary Griffin Tyree was born on June 11, 1953 to John Wade and Della plot Tyree in Goshen County, Virginia.

Gary Griffin Tyree, age 64 of Selma, NC set aside his heavy burdens and transitioned from this earthly life entering into eternal rest on Thursday, January 11, 2018.

Gary worked as a tow truck driver for many years until his health declined.

Garry loved his family.  He loved to go fishing with his sons and grandchildren.  He also loved to go out to eat at places like Grandsons, Texas and Applebee’s with his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart and he loved spending time with them.  Gary was loved by his family and will be truly missed.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James, Doug, John Wade and Billy Tyree and sister, Charlotte Stanley. 

He leaves to cherish his memories; sons, Jonathan G. Tyree (Mary) of Zebulon, NC, Gary J. Tyree (Maria) of Raleigh, NC, Michael G. Tyree (Melissa) of Clayton, NC, Jamie J. Tyree of Raleigh, NC, Aaron Brown of Raleigh, NC; daughters, Amanda M. Tyree of Raleigh,NC, Katie Mims of Warrenton, NC; sister, Shirley Seals, brother, Bobby Tyree Sr., a host of grandchildren, and other relatives. 

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Richard Harris Funeral Home - Zebulon, NC 122 W. Barbee Street Zebulon, NC 27597. Services beginning at 5:00 P.M.
